The opera tells the story of a mother (Ingeborg Bröcheler) and daughter (Madeline Saputra) who find themselves diametrically opposed, and explores how tensions in society can play out in our personal relationships. It is a deeply human story about listening, clashing and living together, wrapped in an overwhelming richness of music and performed by Philzuid, a community choir of around 100 singers and five professional soloists. Uprising premieres on 13 November at Theater aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht.

SOWING WISHES TOGETHER
A community opera means that the community takes part in the opera.
