Cinderella (Cenerentola in Italian) is treated like a doormat by her stepsisters Clorinda and Tisbe and her stepfather Don Magnifico. She is therefore not allowed to go to Prince Ramiro’s ball. However, it is not the stepsisters that the prince and his entourage are talking about, but Cinderella who has made an impression with her friendly appearance and sympathetic helpfulness.
Alidoro, Prince Ramiro’s tutor, secretly arranges for Cinderella to go to the ball after all, as a masked lady. Ramiro falls in love immediately. But will she be granted happiness, in this web of disguises and opposition from the sisters and Don Magnifico?
