Info
Shepherd Saphir and Shepherdess Fleurette are in love with each other. But Saphir, in reality a prince in disguise, cannot propose to her because of his origins. What does chance want? Fleurette turns out to be Princess Hermia, the rejected heir to the throne of King Bobèche! Nothing seems to stand in the way of the love between the prince and the newfangled princess, except that Bluebeard has set his eye on Hermia, he wants her as his seventh wife…
Popolani, Bluebeard’s servant, reacts with dismay to his master’s idea: first the sixth Rose Queen must be crowned! Boulotte (secretly in love with Prince Saphir) is the ‘lucky’ one. This marriage is short-lived, because Bluebeard cannot wait to make Hermia his next wife.
Boulotte must therefore be eliminated, just like Bluebeard’s other ex-wives. Popolani, responsible for killing the women, appears to bring them back to life in exchange for some love. But six brides are too much for him; he devises a plan to expose Bluebeard in front of the king. All ex-wives emerge from their tomb – alive and kicking – and decide to take revenge on their mutual ex-husband.
Does this fairy tale ultimately end with ‘and everyone lived happily ever after’…?
