In verband met de nieuwe maatregelen tegen verspreiding van de corona-pandemie die de rijksoverheid onlangs bekendmaakte, zijn alle voorstellingen en randprogrammering van Opera Zuid tot 1 juni geannuleerd. Daarmee volgt Opera Zuid de richtlijnen van de Rijksoverheid.
Vanwege deze omstandigheden heeft Opera Zuid met immense spijt moeten besluiten de voorbereidingen en daarmee ook alle voorstellingen van Een lied voor de maan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream en I Hate Music! stop te zetten. De gezondheid van cast, creatives, medewerkers, publiek en partners genieten nu de hoogste prioriteit. Wanneer en in welke hoedanigheid deze voorstellingen alsnog worden uitgevoerd, wordt momenteel volop onderzocht. Wel kunnen we u verzekeren dat Opera Zuid er alles aan zal doen om deze prachtige werken alsnog aan u te presenteren.
Onze gedachten gaan uit naar allen die door deze corona-crisis worden getroffen.

U moet weten dat het hart van alle makers sneller gaat kloppen bij het maken van plannen, het schrijven, repeteren, ontwerpen, op tournee gaan, spelen en u na de voorstelling te ontmoeten in de foyer van het theater. Al deze processen zijn nu niet mogelijk. De cultuursector en theaters gaan zoeken naar oplossingen, maar daar hebben wij ú bij nodig. Wilt u de cultuursector en Opera Zuid steunen in deze moeilijke periode? Bezoek dan des te meer culturele instellingen en evenementen zodra dit weer kan! Kom naar de voorstellingen van Opera Zuid en breng mensen mee die nog niet bekend zijn met opera of zelden een bezoekje brengen aan het theater. Hoe meer publiek we in de toekomst kunnen bereiken, hoe beter we de gevolgen van deze periode kunnen opvangen. Cancellation of performances | COVID-19 situation
In keeping with the current measures against the spread of the coronavirus that the Dutch government announced on Monday 23rd of March, Opera Zuid has cancelled all performances untill the 1st of June.
Because of these circumstances, Opera Zuid had no choice but to cancel all performances of Een lied voor de maan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and I Hate Music!, as a precaution for the health of all cast, creatives, crew, audiences and partners. We are currently investigating how and when we can reschedule these productions. We can assure you that we will do everything in our power to show these beautiful productions at a later date. Our thoughts go out to everyone who is impacted by this terrible crisis.

You should know that the heart of all theater-makers beats faster when planning, writing, rehearsing, designing, touring, playing and meeting you in the theater foyer after the performance. All these processes are not possible now. The cultural sector and theaters are looking for solutions, but we need you to do that. Would you like to support the arts, cultural institutes and Opera Zuid during this difficult period? As soon as the stringent restrictions are lifted, please attend cultural events, institutions and performances as much as possible. Come often and bring people who are not yet familiar with opera or who do not often come to the theatre.
