Il Barbiere di Siviglia tells the story of the tricks that Count Almaviva performs to elope the beautiful Rosina.
The biggest obstacle is that Rosina is under strict supervision of her guardian Doctor Bartolo, who wants to marry her. In various disguises, the Count sows confusion and at the same time woos Rosina. He is helped by the cunning barber and devil hunter Figaro. Bartolo becomes suspicious and the matter becomes even more complicated when Rosina wants to flee with Lindoro. Bartolo tries to convince her that Lindoro and Count Almaviva are one and the same person, but she only finds out much later. At the end of the opera, the Count and Rosina get married – much to Bartolo’s disappointment. However, the newlyweds leave him Rosina’s dowry.
