Het Meermeisje (6+) (2019)

3 February ’19 > 31 March ’19

Meermeisje is a free adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale: the Little Mermaid.

The story of a young mermaid who gives up her family, her water world and her voice for the love of a boy from the land and the urge to dance. In this Faust-esque tale, the Mermaid sells her voice instead of her soul to the Sea Witch in exchange for a pair of beautifully dancing legs.

She can’t wait for morning! Then she can finally go up, see the clouds, hear the wind, feel the sun. It tickles her tail, what would it be like to walk, run, dance? He stands on the beach, a surfboard under his arm and peers out to sea, behind him the fire burns and the girls dance. He longs for the sea, the wind rises.

Family show for everyone from 6 years. This youth opera is in collaboration with Opera Zuid and Ragazze Quartet.
